Welcome to a land full of diversity, culture and music. Here you can walk through the pier and experience the Northeaster region of Brazil in a truly unique way: through stories.

A relaxing break
After walking out of your caravel and down the pier, settle into a chair at the beach and dig your feet into the sand. Enjoy a calming break and the smell of the sea while sipping on a coconut under a straw umbrella and try out some local beachside delicacies such as acarajé, calamari and shrimp. If you want to a tan and stronger breeze, claim a hammock in the shallow water for a quick nap.
Keep an eye out for Red Beard and for the Gourd Head by the water, for they are known to roam the area in search of someone to break their curses.

Past the beach, a large open plaza invites you into the park. Music floods the air and the smell of seafood welcomes you. A group of people wearing white in the center perform capoeira in a circle, with instruments following along to the beat.

Down from the festivities, colorful buildings and stores line the street, with hammocks, paintings, and clay and hay artisanal goods.

A museum on your left features artifacts, clothing items and various pieces telling the story of the African people who were brought over to Brazil in colonial times. The exposition is themed around their fight to preserve their culture and religion through music, dances, and stories passed down generations.

Lining the street on both sides, you see quaint stores full of artisanal products. Hammocks, ceramics and woven hay goods, all in the brightest colors. The smells from the corner restaurant draw you further into the park, with promises of vatapá, moquecas, carne de sol, acarajé and seafood prepared in numerous ways.

Next to a large colonial church, sits a small, simple house, which seems like the entrance to the roller coaster behind it. The statue next to the house portrays Lampião e Maria Bonita, the very king and queen of Cangaço (early 1900s bandits and outlaws). The home houses a small museum, taking you through the lives of the iconic duo and their band of outlaws. The coaster then brings you into the story, inviting you to join their gang in the invasion of a small town. You follow along as they lock up the local law enforcement in their own jail, buy goods from the local stores, and throw a big party for the town, just before galloping away before night falls.

Never ending energy
Throughout the day, performers dance around the region, alongside musicians and curious guests, filled with the vibrant energy known to the northeastern people. Celebrations of Frevo, capoeira, and Saint Johns festivities take turns, as the people dance around to forró and xaxado.

Northeastern stories brought to life.
